Title: Twilight
Series Titles: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn (released August 2), Midnight Sun (in the process)
Author: Stephenie Meyer
Status: Series in progress (3 books now, last one coming August 2, and author is working on another)
Genre: Romance/ Dark Fantasy
Amy's Comments: Girl meets boy and they fall in love. Except for the boy is a vampire and is constantly struggling with himself to not kill her. It’s pretty hot. (AND JASPER HALE BELONGS TO AMY.) Oh, and the movie will be flipping amazing!!!
Anna's Comment: Very steamy. Extremly addicting. If I could have a bf like Edward, my life would be complete. CAUTION: some sex-like scenes are in this book. They are currently making a movie to this series and I can honestly say I will be the first to be in the theater.
Emili's Comment: An epic romance with a great plot. It is by far the best book I have ever read (besides HP). Very addictive. Any fantasy book fan will love this series. Can't wait for the movie!
Abby's Comment: Oh Gosh, these books are amazing! Stepanie Meyer is a genius, and these books are awesome. The characters are highly addicting, and if you don't have enough money to buy the whole seires, or a friend who will let you borrow them (thanks emili love ya!) then I dont suggest starting the first, its over way too quickly, and waiting for the next one may cause withdrawl, and no one wants to stop being addicted to edward, or emmett.....*wipes slobber off keyboard*
Title: The Wardstone Chronicles (called The Last Apprentice in the US)
Series Titles (USA): Revenge of the Witch, Curse of the Bane, Night of the Soul Stealer, Attack of the Fiend, Wrath of the Bloodeye, The Spook's Sacrifice (UK title)
Author: Joseph DeLaney
Status: Series in progress (5 so far, 6th isn't out yet)
Genre: Action/ Dark Fantasy
Amy’s Comments: The Last Apprentice is pretty awesome. It’s kind of like a low-calorie version of Harry Potter… all the action, but none of the shipping and stuff.
Title: Vampirates
Series Titles: Demons of the Ocean, Tide of Terror, Blood Captain
Author: Justin Somper
Status: Series (3 books as of now, I'm not sure if there's more to come)
Genre: Action/ Dark Fantasy
Amy’s Comments: The title says it all - vampire pirates. But they do stuff other than just suck each other's blood. Especially Lieutenant Lorcan Furey... *dreamy sigh*. I just finished the second one, too... it's good, but personally, I think there's too much Connor in it. I'm much more interested in Grace and Lorcan. Need to get the third one - it's called Blood Captain. (I bet you a million bajillion dollars that it's about Sidorio...)
Abby's Comment: Totally freakin cool. I'll be the first to say that I was a little sceptical at first, I mean really vampirates? Well I just read the first book, and I couldnt put it down. It surpassed my expectations by a million and ten miles. The idea is so origanal, and the characters are so deep, it makes you want to get shipwrecked on the off chance that Lorcan wants to go swimming that night. Amy Ill fight you for Lorcan. Let the battle begin!
Emili's Comment: Thank you Amy for getting me hooked on these boks. They are so awesome and totally original. One problem, we all have seemed to of fallen for Lorcan Furey. Don't blame us he's freakin HOT!
Title: Vampire Plagues
Series Titles: London 1850, Paris 1850, Mexico 1850
Author: Sebastian Rook (a.k.a. Ben Jeapes)
Status: Finished trilogy (that's 3 books)
Genre: Dark Fantasy
Amy’s Comments: It’s about a group of kids that go out and fight vampires. Though I don’t advocate the removal of magical creatures, the trilogy is pretty cool, but it’s one of those series that you read in less than a month and barely remember that you read it. I've read a lot of negative reviews about this series, but the thing to remember is that this series was written for younger children. I read it when I was 11 and loved it. But don't take my word for it... go try out the series yourself. (Also... sorry I couldn't find a good website. This series hasn't ever really been popular, so I linked to the author's webpage.)
Title: A Series of Unfortunate Events
Series Titles: The Bad Beginning, The Reptile Room, The Wide Window, The Miserable Mill, The Austere Academy, The Ersatz Elevator, The Vile Village, The Hostile Hospital, The Carnivorous Carnival, The Slippery Slope, The Grim Grotto, The Penultimate Peril, The End
Author: Lemony Snicket (a.k.a. Daniel Handler)
Status: Finished Series (13 books in all)
Genre: realistic fiction
Amy’s Comments: The craze is over, but the good books remain. (Except for the last one pretty much sucks werewolf juice boxes. Sorry, Emili. I know you love Jacob and I should respect that... *hugs Emili while sticking tongue out at Jake*)
Anna's Comment: this has nothing to do with the book, but AMY ******** ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR TREE?!?!? Jake would be insulted to hear those words. I am just as in love with Jacob Black as Emili. And such language on the site. You should really clean that up..
Emili's Comment: Y'all don't know Jake like I do. He is very offended. *hugs Jake while nearly being sufficated* Anyway about the book. It's okay Amy was right though. It does suck werewolf juice boxes. Sorry Jake. Truth Hurts!
Anna: HELLO, LANGUAGE...haha
Abby's Comment: Werewolf juice boxes, totally. Loved the other ones, but the last one...no. Sucks. I will never forgive him for ending it like that. Unless he rights a book about vampires or wizards, then I might consider forgiving him...if Im in a good mood
Amy's Comment (Part 2): Anna, I cleaned it up for ya. (Sorry Abby & Em... I censored yours a little, too... if you're mad I'll buy you a cookie.)
Title: The Chronicles of Narnia
Series Titles: The Magician's Nephew; The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe; Prince Caspian; The Voyage of the Dawn Treader; The Silver Chair; The Horse and His Boy; The Last Battle
Author: C.S. Lewis
Status: Finished Series (7 books in all)
Genre: fantasy, but based on the Bible
Amy’s Comments: I bet you’d never think to see a Chronicles of Narnia thing on a Harry Potter website. Honestly, I’m still working on the third book right now, but I know it rules and you should read the series.
Abby's Comment: AHHH Finally! A chance to talk about Narnia! Gosh, its taken forever but now is my chance. Narnia totally rocks my socks. These books are simply extraordinary. He is a genius, and Aslan my favorite character of all time. Yes, Im sorry to say it, but he trumps harry and edward*sigh*. Well, no I take that back, hes my favorite character that I have never ever thought of as 'cute'. I want to go to Narnia almost worse than I want to go to Hogwarts. Read these books! I swear on my life that if you read any of the books mentioned above, or Harry Potter, you will not regret it!
Title: The Inheritance Cycle
Series Titles: Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr
Author: Christopher Paolini
Staus: trilogy in progress (there is actually going to be four books though)
Genre: Action/ Fantasy
Abby's Comment: Christopher Paolini's style is very similar to the writers of the old days, in other words we see eragon do everything step by step with nothing left out. He makes it work though, and this style ends up making everything alot more realistic. The characters force you to care about them, from Saphira and Arya, to Murtagh, to Orik. It is simply awe inspiring how well he takes this story and writes it. Im in a constant state of anticipation for Brisingr.
Emili's Comment: I personally think that Eragon has low blood sugar, because he passes out in almost every chapter. Well, besides Eragon's constant fainting these books are very addicting. I especially love reading about Roran's pathetic life. If you ask me he's more interesting than Eragon. lolz! PS. I just started reading Brisingr and OMG it is awesome!!
Amy's Comment: This is really sad... I tried to read Eragon, but it went way over my head. I can tell that it's a wonderful book, but I can't enjoy it. *cries*
Title: The Spiderwick Chronicles
Series Titles: The Field Guide, The Seeing Stone, Lucinda's Secret, The Ironwood Tree, The Wrath of Mulgarath
Author: Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi
Status: Series in progress (7 so far)
Genre: Fantasy/Adventure
Emili's Comment: Very good books. Surpisingly funny with twists around every corner.
Title: The Vampire Diaries
Series Titles: The Awakening, The Struggle, The Fury, Dark Reunion
Author: L. J. Smith
Status:Finished Series (4 books in all)
Genre: Dark Fantasy
Emili's Comment: Extremely addicting. Very hot. The whole series is about a girl who is torn between two vampires, and to make the tension even more gripping the vampires are brothers, Stefan and Damon. Stefan belongs to me.
Title: The Warriors Series
Series Titles: (Part One) Into The Wild, Fire and Ice, Forest of Secrets, Rising Storm, A Dangerous Path, The Darkest Hour. (Part Two) Midnight, Moonrise, Dawn, Starlight, Twilight, Sunset. (Part Three) The Sight, Dark River, Outcast, Eclipse,
Author: Erin Hunter
Status: 15 books so far but there is still more to come
Genre: Adventure/Fiction
Emili's Comment: OMG these books never end. You can over do a good thing. I think there's only going to be three more books though. Anyway, besides the fact that these books never end they're pretty good. Jaypaw is so cute.
